Outdoor Education

Outdoor and Adventurous Education plays an important part in our children's education. It allows children to take calculated risks, exposes them to new experiences and environments which are both challenging and exciting, and supports pupils' mental and physical well being.

Outdoor and Adventurous Education is provided through our forest school sessions. Each class in years 2 to 6 receive a term of Forest School weekly sessions each year. These are led by Mr K. Boardman, a level 3 trained Forest School practitioner and are held in our dedicated Forest School area within the grounds of the school.

Further extra-curricular opportunities to engage in Outdoor and Adventurous activities include participation in our yearly residential visits to Derwent Hill outdoor Education Centre in the Lake District (catering to our year 5 and 6 pupils) and to the Hawkhirst Scout Camp at Kielder Water (for our year 3 and 4 pupils).
